Celebrate Sisters Foundation provides mentorship for 6th-12th grade girls and college scholarships.

Celebrate Sisters was founded in 2017 by two sisters, Dr. Ja’Wanda S. Grant, PhD and Dr. Jalarna J. Grant, MD, in honor of all of the women who inspired their success.

About the founders:

Dr. Jalarna J. Grant, MD is an Obstetrician/Gynecologist currently practicing in Olive Branch, Mississippi.  Dr. Grant received M.S in Biomedical Science in 2008 from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (Georgia Campus).  She completed her medical degree in 2012 from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.  She completed her training in OB/GYN at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Dr. Grant specializes in women’s health care and has a special interest in obstetrics, contraception, and preventive medicine.  Dr. Grant is passionate about patient education and decreasing health disparities in minority communities.  When she is not delivering babies, Dr. Grant enjoys working out, running, playing and watching basketball, spending time with family, and enjoying great food!

Dr. Ja’Wanda S. Grant, PhD is currently the Special Assistant to the Provost for Scholar Development and Institutional Alliances at Xavier University of Louisiana.  Dr. Grant received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mississippi in 2002 followed by her Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Science in 2008.  Dr. Grant completed her post-doctoral training at NYU in the Department of Environmental Medicine.  She then shifted gears from laboratory research to teaching and administration.  Dr. Grant has coordinated and directed various academic success and summer research programs, conferences, and trainings. She has a passion for mentoring and advising students.  When she is not writing grants, reports, and planning events, she enjoys watching movies on Netflix, nature walks with her puppy child (Levi), and singing!
